Course Duration: 4 days | Time: 9am to 1pm | Course Locations: VILT, Lagos, Houston, San Diego

Course Description

The emphasis of this workshop will be focusing on using waterflood as an option for field development and the reservoir management aspects of waterflood to maximize production and reserve increase. Waterflood often can double field total recovery in comparison with primary depletion. An effective waterflood reservoir management program can account for 30% to 50% of the reserve. In addition to optimal reservoir management, diagnostic & interpretation techniques will be discussed. Critical to effective reservoir management of waterflood is an effective data collection and surveillance program which will be covered in the workshop. Several case studies will be presented. Videos will be played to compliments the lectures. Participants are encouraged to give a 15 minutes presentation of own challenges to increase production.

1.The case for developing your oil fields with waterflood
2.Incorporating waterflood into your FDP
3.Data Collection and Surveillance of Waterflood Conventional techniques such as PLT, well test, etc. Unconventional technique such as 4D seismic, SWCTT, etc.
4.Interpretation Classical methodology such as Stags Plot, RF vs HCPVI plots, etc. 2 Simulations
5.Reservoir Management Voidage replacement strategies for various depletion options Conformance control Pattern optimization Artificial lifts Optimal management of injectors and producers Reservoir management tools and techniques
6.Participants to present own challenges and issues for feedbacks.
7.Case study from around the world North America North Sea
8.Class exercise

All interested in optimally managing their waterflood leading to production and reserve increase Participants are encouraged but not required to bring own laptop with Excel software installed.
