Course Description

This module will provide participants with understanding in fundamental reservoir engineering, the type of reservoirs that will likely be encountering during their careers in the oil and gas industry.  In addition, the modern tools reservoir engineers used today to design field development planning and/or reservoir management will be discuss. Various techniques covering primary depletions, secondary recovery and tertiary recovery (EOR) commonly used in the industry to optimally develop these reservoirs/fields will be discussed. This course is not intended to go into depth on theoretical issues but rather focus on solutions.  For example, how should we plan for the development of an undersaturated reservoir vs planning for the development of an oil rim?  Numerous case studies will be presented.
